The man at the right is Bob Johnson a music writer
at the Memphis Press Scimitar. Sam invited Bob, colleague, Lee Soroca,
the local agent for United Press to the studio. Bob coined the phrase
"Million Dollar Quartet" and used it to headline his article
(left). Bob left the studio before the session started. The session
itself has appeared on a multiplicity of LP's and CD's.
Typically Jerry stayed on after
everyone else had gone home. Late in the evening he sat at the piano
and cut the best solo recordings ever made.
