Jerry Lee with Jack Dempsey and Jud Phillips When Jud Phillips took Jerry to New York and got him booked on the Steve Allen show they went out to celebrate at the restaurant owned by the boxer, Jack Dempsey. A story is often told that Jerry ate his first ever steak there and liked it so much that he asked for another one and he is reputed to have eaten it too. When Kyle's Webmaster asked Jerry about this years later he laughed and said "That is ridiculous I've been eating steak all my life. I'm the meatman remember!" |
