Jerry Lee Lewis performance contract for show on 27th January 1966

Jerry was paid $700 for two 45 minute shows.

Tthe band had to play for two and a half hours.

There are some interesting details on the reverse side of the contract. After being forgotten for over 35 years, the scribbled lyrics to "Yea they call him the Colonel" are revealed together with "Nel's" telephone number and a most interesting calculation that is in Cecil's handwriting: The contract was for a total payment of $700 dollars, a deposit of $125 had been prepaid to the agency, so Jerry was to pick up $575 on the night. The $210 deduction was to pay the band and road manager Cecil - Jerry actually received the balance - just $365 and they still had to pay transportation to Huntsville.

Times were pretty tough for Jerry Lee in 1967
