MY SHOWS IN THE USA

I have been to America 20 times and played special shows in New York and Knoxville and been lucky enough to play with James Burton, at his club in Shreveport Lousiana. James used to lead Elvis's band and I first met him when he was backing my biggest influence - Jerry Lee Lewis.

I have also been to two Jerry Lee Lewis birthday parties in Memphis and I also went back to record tracks for my To Memphis 'N' Back CD.

Here are some pictures of me in Las Vegas - Playing Liberace's famous mirror piano.

The Liberace Museum is a great place to visit. It has a wonderful collection of historical pianos as well as all Liberace's cars and stage costumes. The Liberace Foundation currently helps many young musicians and others hoping for a career in the performing arts.

This is me at Bootleggers - a great late night club and restaurant that gets really busy in the early hours as artists who are in hotel shows often go to Bootleggers after their shows have finished. Bootleggers has great food and a nightly musical jam session that money can't buy!

This is an old picture of me in 2001,at Jerry Lee's 66th Birthday party in Memphis with Kay Martin who has been a great and faithful friend to Jerry since the 50's - see the full story below:

Kay (at right) with Jerry on 2nd August 1957

Kay is a really great person who has been very helpful to me and who I am proud to include in this Rock 'N' Roll Scrapbook. Kay and her friend Elaine Berman first met Jerry in New York for the Steve Allen TV show on 28th July, 1957. Kay and Elaine met Jerry often over the next week while he stayed in New York to do the Alan Freed "Big Beat" TV Show. This picture was taken outside the Alan Freed TV Studio and shows, left to right, Elaine, J.W. Brown at the back, Russell Smith, Jerry and Kay herself.

Elaine suggested that they form a fan club for Jerry and Jerry, Jud Phillips, and everyone else in the picture signed a document to that effect. It is that piece of paper that started the first fan club and to this day, Elaine and Kay are still helping fans. Both attended Jerry's recent birthday parties and Kay has really helped me a great deal.

My thanks to Kay for making this moment in history available to fans everywhere.
